If you believe your symptoms are caused by things outside your control – germs, genes, bad luck, stress, trauma, “the economy,” other people, or even your environment – you’re practicing the modern religion.
That religion is determinism (materialism): the belief that the physical world “makes” you be what you are, feel what you feel, and suffer what you suffer.
And that belief is quietly making people sick.
Every symptom (and every so-called “problem”) begins in your psyche — not as an event that harms you, but as something you are doing for a reason.
A biological conflict isn’t “damage” that happens to you. It’s a program you run, simultaneously, in psyche, brain, and body, because it serves something personal.
Even students of the Five Biological Laws can accidentally practice determinism by treating conflicts like external threats that must be prevented, instead of experiences the psyche generates and uses.
So what’s the way out?
I call it deliberate selfish self-development.
Not indulgence. Not narcissistic hoarding. Not using people.
But the healthy “selfishness” of becoming more alive: meeting your real needs, choosing what strengthens you, moving your body in ways you love, creating what matters to you, and going for what you actually want.
That “heresy” is exactly what today’s collapsing paradigm tries to shame out of you.
But it’s also where your power—and your wellness—comes from.
