How to Spot Health Bullshit

Health information is everywhere now, but not all of it is actually there to help you think clearly.

A lot of it is designed to persuade you, frighten you, confuse you, or push you into dependency.

We need a way to recognize health bullshit across conventional medicine, alternative medicine, and even in Germanic New Medicine.

To become less vulnerable to propaganda, panic, and manipulation, we need a filter. Because health messaging – like all the other thousands of marketing messages we get per day – tends to lower our self-trust instead of increasing our clarity.

We’re kind of flooded with health (including wellbeing, beauty, and fitness) messaging. It’s coming from doctors, wellness influencers, social media, headlines, AI-generated content, and people claiming to have the secret truth that Big Pharma doesn’t want you to know.

But most of that messaging is actually information.

It’s persuasion.

When health information pushes fear, shame, confusion, urgency, or dependency instead of clarity, it stops being helpful. It becomes health bullshit.

You need to know how to spot that bullshit before you unconsciously use it to hijack your attention, lower your self-trust, and pull yourself out of your own sovereignty by creating existential isolation.

There are several common fallacious patterns in health discourse, including:

  • fear dressed up as truth
  • authority instead of explanation
  • false cause-and-effect
  • false binaries

But these patterns aren’t just in conventional (and many alternative) medical system. These same patterns appear in naïve interpretations of Germanic New Medicine.

Naïve GNM creates a huge problem in understanding the five biological laws because it drags old, mechanically-deterministic thinking into what is really a completely different understanding that places your brain and nervous system at the centre of both your illness and your healing. So in logically-fallacious GNM, we switch out being victims of germs, genes, or toxins, to being victims of “a shock,” “a program,” or our own bodies.

That’s not a paradigm shift at all. It is the old paradigm wearing confusing and frustrating new clothes.

Spotting health bullshit comes down to understanding that your psyche, brain, and body are not alien forces happening to you while you stand helplessly wringing your hands in fear and confusion.

Your “biocomputer” is the instrument of your life.

Any health message that positions you as a victim of your own biology and pressures you into dependency on some external “authority” deserves very serious scrutiny.
