Resolution of the biological conflict in the psyche can occur through insight, safety, reassurance, or a shift in meaning.
It is the moment when the “charge” of the conflict – the tension between our desired (evolutionary) state and the state or experience we desire to avoid – is no more. We receive the content of the conflict into consciousness (we become aware of it and make peace with it).
The experience is a sense that what was previously a “problem” no longer matters, is not a problem, or is even a benefit in some way.
Some say that we know that a biological conflict is resolved in the psyche when we can laugh or have humour or even gratitude about something that was formerly very serious and threatening for us.
In particular, resolution of a biological conflict always involves resolution of existential isolation in relation to that particular biological conflict.
Conflictolysis is not an intellectual process: it is a release of tension in the psyche by accepting a reality or condition that we previously could not accept. In most species, and in very young humans, conflict resolution usually means a change in conditions or circumstances that allows the individual to let down their guard. However, for many people resolution of the biological conflict can be facilitated by becoming conscious of the conflict content and allowing ourselves to feel the resistance, the desires, and the “charge” of the biological conflict.
This is called, “receiving the conflict content into consciousness.” It is the primary mechanism of MindTree Integration.
The moment a biological conflict moves from the unconscious into the conscious mind, it is no longer in the psyche. A conflict must be in the psyche (the unconscious mind) in order to be a biological conflict and trigger a special biological program.
(When we “identify the DHS,” we are bringing the biological conflict from the unconscious to the conscious)
The instant a biological conflict moves from the psyche into the conscious mind, it is resolved. (Of course, we can then become unconscious again, and relapse, which technically begins a new SBS)
At the moment of conflictolysis (CL), the organism immediately stops conflict activity and begins PCL A (the first part of the healing phase) of that particular special biological program.
Each special biological program must have its own conflict resolution to enter the healing phase. Conflictolysis for one biological conflict does not mean conflictolysis for all biological conflicts and can actually trigger new special biological programs if we resist or are afraid of healing phase symptoms.
The intensity of healing corresponds to the amount of conflict mass accumulated prior to CL.
